Pumping, or often called ‘Long Distance Pumping (LDP)’, is a way to propel your board by making a swinging motion with your body without putting a foot on the ground. It already originated probably in the 60s or 70s. Today’s LDPers often use special boards and fancy setups including wedged risers, intricate bushing combos and precision trucks. Pumping is something you need to learn and is not as straightforward as pushing. It may to take up to a few days to learn it and even longer to fully master the technique.
