Although distance skateboarding can be done on basically every type of skateboard, people tend to use longer boards with bigger and softer wheels. Longer boards give more space to place your feet and are also easier to control. Bigger and softer wheels compensate for rough terrain and make you roll a lot smoother. Within distance skateboarding there are mainly three ways of propelling yourself: pushing, pumping and stand-up paddle boarding.
